Established in the year 1953 as U.P.School with a single division and about 33 students under the management of late Sri.A.N.Neelakantan Namboodiri BA.BT., now has a student strength of 2800 with 94 staff members ranging from Stds. 1 to 10. The present manager is Smt. Leela Antharjanam. The school is in the 57th year of service to this village in Muriyad Panchayath.
The High School section to the school was sanctioned in the year 1982 and from the First batch of SSLC, the institution has been achieving laudable pass percentage with numerous Ranks, Distinctions etc. In the field of extra curricular activities too, the school is in the limelight. Right from Sub-district festivals to State festivals, our students have been winning prestigious positions. The students are trained by expert teachers from across Kerala. Sreekrishna High school stood first by contributing the maximum points ( 22 points) to Thrissur Revenue District in the State Kalotsavam held at Kozhikode this year.
In the fields of Science, Mathematics and other fairs also our students have been winning top positions. There are different Clubs in the school, such as Science club, Mathematics club, Arts club, Ethics club, Health and Environmental clubs,IT Club etc.
Sports also is given much importance here. Our students in the previous years have participated in different level competitions and made noticeable achievements. The school has Hockey teams both for Boys and Girls. Started in the year 2008 with about 35 students, the Hockey teams have participated in all levels, such as District, State and even in Interstate matches. More and more students joined the teams thereafter.
The school has Scouts & Guides and year after year our students are being selected for President’s medals.
The school started the Computer classes in the year 1996 and now there are 3 class rooms with most modern computer equipments. But with growing demands and with huge number of students, the numbers are insufficient, eventhough every year the numbers are increased.
The school had received several awards. Best PTA (statewise), Best school by Govt. Panampilly College, Chalakudy (twice), for good pass percentage in the State level of SC/ST students (twice), Best teacher award for the Headmaster this year, …… are some of the remarkable achievements.
We, with the help of students publish “KURUMOZHI” every 3 months covering all the activities, which is widely accepted by all.
A ‘Charitable Fund’ has been formed with contributions from all well wishers for extending a helping hand to the needy in all walks of life.
The school has been achieving these with the co-operation of management, PTA, Teachers, students….. In the years to come also we hope to be in the limelight and serve the students and public for their bright future. We look forward to make this institution with regard to infrastructure, environment etc.
